Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
You Will Know helps you write, schedule and analyze your own posts on Threads. This policy explains, in plain words, what data we collect, why, where it lives, who else touches it, and how to get it deleted.
Who we are
You Will Know is operated by Rinat Akhunianov, an individual based in Georgia ("we", "us"). We are the controller of your personal data under the GDPR and similar laws. Contact: support@youwillknow.me.
What we collect
- Account. Your email address, time zone, and sign-in sessions (including IP address and browser type, for security). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google and nothing else from your Google account.
- Waitlist. Your email address, if you join the waitlist.
- Threads, when you connect it. Your Threads user ID, username, display name and profile picture; an access token (stored encrypted); posts you publish through You Will Know and recent posts from your profile (text, media links, permalinks, timestamps); and insights for your posts and profile (views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes, shares, follower count, and aggregated follower demographics).
- What you create. Drafts, threads, ideas, tags, posting slots, schedules, and images or videos you upload.
- AI editor and planner. The text you send for review, the goal you give the planner, your brand profile, the feedback you get back (kept so the same text gets the same answer without a new request), and how many requests you made.
- Product analytics and errors. Pages you visit, actions you take in the app, device and browser details, and error reports. On public pages this runs without cookies; after you sign in we use a cookie and local storage to recognize your account.
- Billing, once paid plans launch. Payments are handled by Paddle. We receive your plan and subscription status, never your card details.
Why we use it
- To provide the service you signed up for (performance of a contract): sign-in, storing your drafts, publishing the posts you schedule, showing your analytics, running the AI editor, and sending service emails such as sign-in links or a failed-post alert.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, and to understand which features help so we can improve them (legitimate interests).
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your data, show you ads, or use your posts to train AI models. We never publish anything you didn't schedule.
Threads permissions we ask for
- threads_basic: read your profile (username, name, picture) and your posts, to show your account and sync your post history.
- threads_content_publish: publish the posts you scheduled or chose to publish now.
- threads_manage_replies: publish multi-post threads, where each next part is a reply to your previous part.
- threads_manage_insights: read views, likes and other metrics for your posts and profile, including follower count, for your analytics dashboard.
Where it is stored
In the European Union. The app and database run on Railway, and uploaded media is stored on Cloudflare R2. Data is encrypted in transit, and Threads access tokens are also encrypted at rest.
Who else processes it
We use a small set of providers, each only for its job:
- Meta (Threads): receives the posts and media you publish.
- Anthropic: runs the AI editor and planner. It receives the text you submit, your brand profile and a few of your recent posts as a style sample. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train their models.
- Google: sign-in, if you choose it. Google tells us who you are; we don't read or write anything in your Google account.
- Resend: sends emails, so it receives your email address and the email content.
- PostHog (EU cloud): product analytics and error tracking.
- Railway and Cloudflare: hosting and storage.
- Paddle: payments, once paid plans launch.
Some providers are based outside the EU. Where data leaves the EU, the transfer is covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
- Account data, content and synced Threads data: as long as your account exists. If you disconnect Threads, we delete your access token at once and keep your history so you can reconnect.
- Waitlist emails: until you join, ask us to remove you, or 12 months after the beta ends, whichever is first.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Backups: overwritten within 30 days.
Deleting your data and revoking access
- Delete account in Settings erases your account and everything in it: posts, ideas, media, synced Threads data and analytics.
- Disconnect next to Threads in Settings, or remove You Will Know in Threads under Settings → Account → Website permissions, revokes our access immediately.
- If you ask for deletion through Threads, we erase everything we received from Threads and give you a confirmation code to check the status.
Step-by-step instructions are on the data deletion page. Posts already published on Threads stay on Threads; delete them in the Threads app.
Your rights
You can ask to access, export, correct or delete your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. Write to support@youwillknow.me; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to a data protection authority, such as the one in your country or the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia.
Children
You Will Know is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will email signed-up users before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
